
Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council is celebrating a great start to 2026 with the news that it has achieved a prestigious award from the National Association of Local Councils.
Chief Executive Officer of the Kent Association of Local Councils, Charmaine Keatley presented the certificate to Town Mayor, Cllr Mike Garner.
She said: “The NALC Local Council Silver Award demonstrates that the Town Council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement and delivers to a nationally recognised professional standard. There are 10,000 town and parish councils in England and only 160 others have achieved this award.”
Cllr Garner added: “Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council achieved its Local Council Award Scheme Bronze award in August 2024 and since then has continued to strive to deliver improvements across the town, from gardening and maintaining green spaces, to woodland management and free to attend community events.
“We are committed to serving the community and ensuring Broadstairs and St Peter’s remain Cleaner, Safer and Kinder places to live, work and visit. The new award is testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers and councillors.”
