Broadstairs Town Council’s Gardeners have been busy in Nuckels Gardens this week.
At the request of Thanet District Council and with the help of the Town Team, our Gardeners have cut down and tidied the shrubs and flower beds for the Dickens House Museum to enable their volunteers to start the spring with clear beds.
A lot of work was required to remove plants and shrubs that are no longer viable, much the same as we had to do in Balmoral Gardens; do not worry, all areas were checked thoroughly for any early nesting.
The gardens may look sparce at the moment, but once the spring finally comes, all fresh growth will be seen, and it will allow for Dickens House Museum to add new plants and shrubs in the future.
Our Gardeners will be lending a hand to Thanet District Council’s Dicken’s House Museum twice a year to ensure that Nuckels Gardens are ready for visitors and then closing the gardens down for the winter months. Thanet Council’s Open Spaces Team will be grass cutting during spring and summer.
Please take the opportunity during your visit, or whilst walking along the promenade, to admire the hard work that has taken place.
Thank you to all involved!
