New Councillor for Beacon Ward

Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council is pleased to welcome new councillor Fi O’Connor to support and represent the residents of Beacon Road ward.  Cllr O’Connor was successfully appointed to the Town Council on Monday evening following a co-option procedure to fill the vacancy arising from the departure of Colin Kemp earlier in the year.

As a former teacher and trainer, Cllr O’Connor’s priorities are supporting young people and addressing the issue of the dwindling number of affordable services and activities offered to them.  As the Thanet representative for Sewers Against Sewage she is also committed to environmental issues and protecting our waters and open spaces.

In an address to Councillors, Cllr O’Connor said: “I will continue to work with fellow councillors, local businesses and other stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for Broadstairs and St Peter’s residents and visitors.”

Fi will also continue to represent the town as Deputy Mayoress, her husband being Cllr Steve Roberts.
