Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council has appointed a Mayoral Cadet to assist the Town Mayor in their civic duties. Cllr Mike Garner visited the Broadstairs and Ramsgate Sea Cadets at their headquarters TS Bulldog to appoint Broadstairs resident, Able Cadet Rocco Hards-Morris to the role.
“I’m really pleased that Rocco has been appointed as the first Broadstairs & St Peter’s Mayoral Sea Cadet. The Ramsgate and Broadstairs Sea Cadets, based at the port in Ramsgate, offer fantastic opportunities to young people from across Thanet and I hope more youngsters from the town will think about getting involved.”
A.C Hards-Moris’s first engagement will be to accompany the Mayor during the commemorative events to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8 May. The Town Council has organised music from the Thanet Concert Band at the bandstand from 7pm. The International tribute will be read by local scouts at around 9.15 and the evening will finish with a beacon lighting on Viking Bay will at 9.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
