Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council are hosting a Community Festival at Pierremont Park, to build a cleaner, safer, kinder community. The event is to help raise awareness of the number of groups out there that can support residents. Groups that can help educate and empower the community and to help residents get the best out of their town.

Community Stalls

CLEANER

Broadstairs Town Team

Broadstairs Town Team will be attending to show the town what projects they’ve been working on with their Litter Picks, The Gardening Group, and The Town Shed, where they’ll have some great woodwork to showcase. The Town Team aims to make Broadstairs an even nicer place to live in, work in, and visit. If you want to sign up to join their venture, come and have a chat with the team at the event.

Friends of Pierremont Park

Friends of Pierremont Park will also be joining the event, where they will be showcasing their work to protect the park.

Thanet Little Libraries

There will be an extended Little Library for my community to exchange their preloved books, as well as information on all the Thanet Little Libraries.

Gap In The Market

There will be a reuse, re-love and recycled area where Gap In The Market will be attending, presenting some of their best-preloved items for purchase (cash only).  All funds are donated to The Gap Project.

Windmill Community Gardens Margate

Windmill Community Gardens Margate is a vibrant and flourishing community space in the heart of Dane Valley, where people, nature, and food come together.

SAFER

Thanet Lifeguard Club

Thanet Lifeguard Club will also be in attendance building awareness of water safety to both children and young adults, lifesaving skills and techniques, along with basic first aid and CPR.

Thanet Community Safety Partnership team

Also attending the event will be the Thanet Community Safety Partnership team, with new interactive ways to build awareness in the community for all ages. The partnership brings together local partners to formulate and deliver strategies to tackle crime and disorder in the community.

Neurodivergent Thanet

Some great supportive groups are attending the event like Neurodivergent Thanet who are there to support local Neurodivergent adults meet their peers in safe spaces.

RNLI

The RNLI will be promoting safety measures the community should know, around our coastal areas and show the charities great work over the years.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service

We hope to have a visit from Kent Fire and Rescue Service where they will be sharing advice to keep safe.

Kent Police

Kent Police will be in attendance to let the community know about their drop in surgeries in Broadstairs and the local area.

KINDER

RSPB

RSPB will be campaigning and educating the community on how to protect birds, wildlife, and their natural habitats.

POW+

POW+ will be join us to showcase their arts and culture programming for women, non-binary, trans and gender nonconforming people in Thanet.

Broadstairs Library Team

Broadstairs Library team will be there to promote a range of services and activities that support and empower the community. Such services like; Home Library service for residents unable to visit the library, Baby Rhyme Time, Storytime, and children’s craft sessions, Knit and natter and ‘Crafternoon’ sessions, Reading Groups, Women’s Wellbeing workshops, autistic friendly and dementia friendly library environments, ICT Buddy sessions. As well as promoting their Know Your Neighbourhood events and activities aimed at targeting people suffering loneliness and isolation in our local community and showcase all their other regular events, activities, and community support available through the library.

Dads Space

Providing a safe space for dads to talk, listen and share their experiences of fatherhood, will be Dad Space, who will be a guest speaker.

The Gap Project

 The Gap Project, a local community charity. They provide a safe and welcoming environment where people can access support, build relationships, and take positive steps forward in their lives. Through their café, groups, and outreach, they aim to reduce isolation and empower individuals to grow in confidence and purpose.

They will be giving a short presentation at the event, at 1pm so come along to learn more about what they do and the difference they make.

Thanet Dementia Action Alliance

The Thanet Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) will be presenting all the great work their they do in Thanet, working to improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers.

Spring Market

A long side of this event, in the park, will be a Spring Market at Pierremont Hall where stalls offer a sustainable and positive impact on the environment. This event is to be as plastic-free as possible and to promote well-being in the community, for all ages.
