Welcome New Staff!

Gardens Team
Broadstairs & St Peter’s Town Council would like to introduce Graham to our Team. Graham joins Vanessa and Colin, and you will find them working between Victoria Gardens, Balmoral Gardens and the War Memorial. We have also taken on under license from Thanet Council, the two circular beds at Pierremont Park.

We hope that you see continued improvements to these areas as the Gardeners work their magic. If you are passing, please stop by as Vanessa, Colin and Graham are always happy to chat about their work, or what they will be working on next.

See the pictures of the fantastic gardening they have completed at Victoria Gardens and Balmoral Gardens.

Paul, our Operations Officer has also started to referbish the railings at Balomoral to their former glory too!

Collin, Vanessa and Graham – Town Gardeners

Woodland Team

We would like to introduce you to Neil Hibbert, who has joined the Town Council as our Woodland Officer. Neil will be overseeing works at Mockett’s Wood now that we have a Management Plan in place.

For those of you who are not aware of Mockett’s Wood, the wood is located at the rear of the car park in Hopeville Avenue, St Peter’s. The wood was historically owned by the Mockett’s family before being gifted to Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council. Management activities are carried out by a small volunteer group, The Friends of Mockett’s Wood and Town Council contractors.

The management plan is a 5 year plan which aims to:
• Manage existing habitats to enhance biodiversity within the woodland
• Ensure the woodland is welcoming, safe and accessible
• Maintain and improve the woodland condition.

Neil will be working alongside the Friends of Mockett’s Wood to deliver the aims. If you are keen to find out more, or would like to volunteer, please contact Neil at Woodlandofficer@broadstairs.gov.uk
