Community Centre
The application to build a new community centre in Pierremont Park, presented to the District Council on Monday 19th May 2008, was approved unanimously by Thanet District Council on 16th July 2008.
The application and plans are available for viewing on Thanet District Council’s website under UK Planning at: www.ukplanning.com.
The next stage is an application (2nd stage) for our Lottery grant which will be submitted in September. A decision on this application will be made by March 2009 with building, hopefully, commencing in 2010.
Town Centre Traffic Plan
The Town Council and electorate are awaiting the outcome of the recent public consultation for the improvements to the high street traffic flows, signage and the junction at Queens Road.
Town Plan
A Working Party has been set up to consider formulating a Broadstairs & St Peter’s Town Plan.
It has been agreed that, initially, a “Town Design Statement” will be produced that will eventually become a part of the “Town Plan”.

Town Trail Boards
Six of the twelve Town Trail Boards located around the Town are being replaced by the Town Council. Some had become untidy and unreadable, and others needed to be updated. These should be in place before the end of the year.
