Blue Plaques
Two plaques to commemorate Sir Edward Heath K.G. M.B.E. have been installed:
One in Albion Road, St. Peter's (where Sir Edward was born) and one at the Broadstairs Sailing Club, where he was a member from 1952 until his death in 2005. The Plaques were unveiled by the Mayor in 2011.
A blue plaque was installed on Oliver Postgate's (creator of Bagpuss and other children's animations) house in Chandos Square in 2009.
Town Trail Boards
Six of the twelve Town Trail Boards located around the Town were replaced in 2010 by the Town Council. Some had become untidy, vandalised and unreadable, and others needed to be updated. The Town Trail Guide is currently being updated.
Public Information Boards
Two new public information boards have been installed at St. Peter's Church on the corner of Vicarage Street and Hopeville Avenue, St Peter's and on the public amenity area at the top of the slipway leading to Dumpton Gap Beach. A third board has now been installed on the corner of George Hill Road and Kingsgate Avenue, Kingsgate.
For further details of all Broadstairs notice boards please refer to
'Town Council Poster Sites'.

Ten new and replacement benches have been installed by Thanet District Council around the Town Centre.
The bench in Belvedere Road, which was destroyed in August 2010 by a vehicle, has been replaced and the Town Council has been reimbursed the cost by the driver's insurance.
